Morning Support Drink
This warming and tasty morning drink supports liver detoxing and digestion. I drink first thing in the morning when I rise, then sit for 30 minutes of meditation to start my day in a nourishing and peaceful way. How we start are day can really have a positive impact on how we move and respond to life in all of its expressions.
Ingredients:
4 quarts water
1 large hand of fresh ginger root
1 large finger of fresh turmeric root
3/4 Tablespoon of black peppercorns
1 Rounded Tablespoon for turmeric power
2 cinnamon sticks
4 star anise (optional)
Instructions:
Chop all the fresh roots into pieces and put all the ingredients (chopped roots, turmeric powder, pepper, cinnamon, star anise) in pot together with water.
InstaPot: Throw it all in and press the button for soup. 30 minutes and let it full depress.
Stove Top: Bring all ingredients to a boil, turn down and simmer for 30 minutes.
Let drink cool, transfer into quart jars and store in the fridge.
Reheat each morning for a warm drink. Add to each warm cup: 1 Tablespoon of Apple cider vinegar and teaspoon of honey. Note: Let the liquid cool a bit before adding honey.
